A Queer Little Library and A Rainbow Little Library
Presented by the City of Ballarat, TBH Studio and the Ballarat LGBTIQA+ community and allies
Take a book, leave a book, this free little library is filled with LGBTIQA+ books for all ages.
A Little Queer Library is an LGBTIQA+ book sharing resource that operates just like a Little Street Library. The main library is hosted at TBH Studio in Bridge Mall, you can drop in, browse the shelves and take a book or two. If you love it, keep it, if not, return it and grab another. Got a couple of LGBTIQA+ books lying around you don't read anymore? We also accept donations, just drop into TBH and drop them off!
Location: TBH Studio, 57 Bridge Mall, Ballarat Central (next to Collins Booksellers)
Time: Open Wednesday to Saturday 10am-4pm
Accessibility: The venue is wheelchair and walking aid accessible; however, accessible public toilets are located nearby outside of the venue.
A Queer Little Library was launched for Pride Month 2024 and is an ongoing resource for the community.

Our Rainbow Little Library is filled with age-appropriate rainbow children's books.
Age-appropriate LGBTIQA+ books are incredibly important for all kids to read. Publisher Harper Collins says "There are many benefits of LGBTQ+ books for kids of all ages and backgrounds. For LGBTQ+ kids, seeing that people like them exist in the fictional world can help children feel more accepted in the real world... For non LGBTQ+ kids, it provides a window into these experiences, often teaching empathy and understanding. It helps to read about topics you're not familiar with to understand better where another person or perspective comes from in any situation."
